How Much Does Event Photography Cost in Dallas? Grad Parties, Half Sarees & More

Short answer: event coverage with Reactive Shots is $150 an hour for photos and $300 an hour for photo + video, both with a 3-hour minimum. So photos start at $450, and photo + video starts at $900.

The hourly rate is simple. What's harder is figuring out how many hours you actually need, so here's how I'd think about it.

How Many Hours Do You Need?

These are starting points. Every family and every timeline is different, and I'm happy to look at yours before you book.

• Birthday parties and housewarmings. The 3-hour minimum usually covers guests arriving, the cake or puja, and family group photos.
• Graduation parties. 3 hours is usually enough for decor, the graduate with family and friends, and the candid moments in between.
• Half saree and dhoti ceremonies. Plan for more. Between getting ready, the rituals, family portraits, and the reception, 4 to 5 hours is common.
• Corporate events. Depends on the agenda. Send it over and I'll tell you which parts are worth covering.

Photos Only or Photo + Video?

Photo + video adds a dedicated wedding-level videographer and a cinematic video. It costs twice as much per hour, so here's when it's worth it:

• Worth it: milestone ceremonies, speeches, and events where grandparents or family from India won't be there in person. Video captures voices and moments that photos can't.
• Probably skip it: most birthdays and casual get-togethers. Good photos cover it.

How to Keep the Cost Down

1. Book the hours that matter. You don't need coverage for the whole night. Cover the ceremony, the key moments, and family photos, and let the party run without me.
2. Send a timeline. If I know when the cake is cut or when the aarti starts, nothing gets missed and no time gets wasted.
3. Pick a point person. One cousin who knows everyone and can round people up for group photos saves a surprising amount of time.

What's Included

Every package includes editing and 2 revisions. Edited photos arrive in about 2 weeks and video in about 3, delivered to a private online gallery that stays up for 90 days. Heavier retouching ($30 an image), express delivery ($50), and raw files ($500) are available if you need them.
